"AUTUMN MOORS" Oil on linen September 2011

Wendy grew up in a home filled with art and music, so her passion for drawing was nurtured as soon as she could hold a pencil and brush. She spent playtimes exploring the garden and surrounding Oakland hills. Every evening she experienced the joy of watching the sky as the sun set over the Pacific behind The Sleeping Lady - Mt. Tamalpais.
The glow of late afternoon is still her favorite time to paint.
After graduating from Stanford University, she worked as assistant to the editor of Communication Arts Magazine in Palo Alto, attending evening classes at the San Francisco Art Institute. In 1976 She moved with her husband and three children to Connecticut, and began practicing Zen meditation with a great Master who encourage her to rekindle her childhood passions. The love of color, beauty and the outdoors led her to exress herself through landscape design, as well as drawing and painting.
In 2000, seeing an exhibit of the oil paintings of the American master, John Phillip Osborne, sparked sense memories of childhood that thrilled her. Here on canvas were the wondrous and memorable effects of light in nature. Soon Wendy began ongoing study of landscape and still life with Mr. Osborne at the Ridgewood Art Institute in New Jersey.

Wendy has won awards in juried shows throughout the area. Her work
is in private collections and is shown at the Lionheart Gallery in Pound Ridge New York.
